Event Venue & Room Rentals

The Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science offers a great venue for receptions, parties, meetings, company picnics and celebrations for your business, family or friends. Hands-on exhibits, live animals and Plantarium adventures make the perfect backdrop for your group to break the ice and have fun that’s not just for kids! Museum Main Gallery

Description:
Our Main Gallery space surely adds a unique touch to any event. Whether it is sitting in the pilot's chair of a real ex-hurricane catcher plane, learning about the worlds most diverse tropical region, the Amazon River, or evaluating your own lifestyle and making better choices at Hear Smart, there is surely something to spike interest in everyone and encourage conversation, interaction and a good time.

Uses:
Your guests have the opportunity to partake in the hands-on exhibits, which encourages conversation, interaction and a good time. Portable, temporary bars and food stations can be set up in different locations. Buffet stations and/or passed hors d'oeuvres work well in this space.

Capacity/Size:
200 - 800 guests using full gallery: varies according to exhibition on display, 5,000-10,000sq ft


Grand Lobby

Description:

The lobby with its central and open space provides an excellent backdrop for business and social receptions, often used by groups before going into a Theater program, the Museum Galleries or a sit-down dinner in the Space Gallery. The centerpiece of the Lobby is the globe from the original Pan American World Airways Seaplane base at Dinner Key in Coconut Grove, now home to Miami City Hall.

Uses:

Provides an excellent backdrop for business and social receptions, often used by groups before going into a Theater program, the Museum Galleries or a sit-down dinner in the Space Gallery. Portable, temporary bars and food stations can be set up or refreshments can be passed.

Capacity/Size:
Up to 150 for a reception, 3,042 sq ft


Theater & Multimedia

Description:

Our 243-tiered seating theater is complete with stage, control booth, multimedia capacities, digital projector, wired for computer-based presentations and videoconferences. Theater is also utilized for movie screenings, plays, comedy shows, panels and seminars.

Uses:

Used for science theater presentations for the visiting public, lectures, public forums and meetings. This room is especially ideal for presentations with audio-visual or computer-based enhancements. Slide projectors, overhead projectors, LCD projectors, laptop computers, microphones, VCRs and podium are available from the Museum. Theater is also utilized for movie screenings, plays, comedy shows, forums, trainings and seminars.

243 seats, stage and backstage.


Planetarium Dome

Description:

In addition to serving as the icon for the institution, this multipurpose area is an impressive space for large meetings, lectures, conferences, concerts under the stars, product launches, fashion shows, movie screenings and more. This space is truly the only one of its kind in South Florida.

Uses:

Star and Laser shows. Ideal for large meetings, lectures, conferences and concerts under the stars.

Capacity/Size:
231 Seats, 3,370 square feet


Space Gallery

Description:

Adjacent to the planetarium, this multipurpose area a great room for practically everything! This room has the ability to feature video presentations on a large 25-foot screen or 10 foot screen. With an added convenience of a back entrance for easy door to door set up.

Uses:

This room is ideal for dinner receptions, parties, meetings and presentations.

Size & Capacity:
Hosts up to 225 for a reception or 150 for a sit-down dinner, 2,500 square feet


Meeting Rooms and Party Spaces

Description:
Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science offers a variety of classroom spaces that can be utilized as party rooms, meeting and workshop spaces, prep areas and more.

Uses:
Used for classes, lectures, workshops, business lunches, seminars and parties.

Size & Capacity:
Accommodates 15 – 60 guests, Classroom A/B: 1,328 sq. ft., Classroom C/D: 565 sq. ft.
